As big fans of The Soup on E!, we always look forward to clips of Ghost Adventures making their way on the show and host Joel McHale tearing them new holes, where holes probably shouldn't be. Here is my open letter to Joel McHale, if anyone knows him just pass it along, even if you don't know him stalk him until you can find his tin shanty with the "Ryan Seacrest Doggy Door".
Dear Joel McHale,
We invite you to join us on Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? as our third member. Together we can take down Zak Bagans and his sidekicks Chumpy and Zippo, and in the process we can get on TV. That way we can get on Maury Povich's show and pretend to talk about things that we think we know. Or we could talk about chicks, man.
Sincerely,
Thor Gunderson & Dick BeBeerbutts
(Not our real names, but they could be. If the price was right.)

Ghost Hunters Held A Contest To Find Their Next Jason and Grant (The Two Hosts) and We Were Not Invited by Joey Rodriguez - 7/21/09
In another attempt to wipe Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? off the map, the Ghost Hunters held a secret contest to find two people who, I guess, were the closest to their two hosts, Jason and Grant. The contest says that they win ghost hunting gear, which could be anything, not that they replace the two guys, which would've been hilarious if they fired them to make way for some other pair of idiots (us!). They knew that Danny and I would totally win and they decided to hold it in secret. Tsk tsk. How dare they!?
Well, whatever. I think this has inspired us to create our own contest. Hmmm. Yeah, instead of winning ghost hunting "gear" you get to be part of our team. Details coming soon...
Developer Diary #2: The Enemy of My Enemy is A Giant Octopus Wearing A Rainbow Afro by Joey Rodriguez - 7/20/09
We hope that you enjoyed Developer Diary #1 about our upcoming game Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Movie Colon The Game! We're back with another look into coming up with enemy ideas and how we try to fit classic enemies in with new twists.
Because most games tend to take place in a relatively current or realistic environment they are sometimes limited to enemy choices. Games such as Call of Duty or Medal of Honor take place in specific eras, decades, or years limiting to them to, if taking place in 1943 for instance, German, Japanese, and maybe Italian enemies. And even at that, every other enemy is really just another human with a different look. You’re not fighting Germans and then Molemen, for instance. Their intent is realism.
PacMan Jones: Make It Reign by Joey Rodriguez - 7/17/09
In honor of new video surfacing of PacMan Jones making it rain on some strippers, I present to you a video, a trailer if you will, that I made last year with my good buddy Dan Schimpf. Let's just say PacMan could've signed a sweet videogame deal with us...
iPod Version / The Travel Channel by Joey Rodriguez - 7/16/09
For some reason, and I'll never understand this, people like to watch videos on their teeny, little iPod screens. So for those of you who hold your iPod in your hand when you're walkin' around instead of putting it your pocket, because SUPRISE, you're not the only one with an iPod, you can now downloadSuper Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? to your iPod and watch it on the subway, in public, while you are driving, wherever you prefer to act cool (or pretend to)!
Also, in a surprise move, the Travel Channel website has actually approved Part 1 of Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? to be in their User Content section. Basically if you've got a wacky travel video you'd like to share you can post it to their website, but each video must be approved by an administrator. I assume this is for copyright reasons and all that other legal junk. I guess they didn't watch Part 1 or read the description I attached to it that started with: Eat your heart out Ghost Adventures! Way to double check uploaded content so that it doesn't embarrass programs already on your network. Jerks.
Although they did thwart my earlier attempt at hijacking their YouTube comments page. I posted a public comment that read: Can you make my ghost hunting documentary into a TV series? with a link to the video on YouTube. Literally within 20 seconds it had been removed. Glad to see they are keeping an eye on things, I mean we may be in business together in the distant future, so I gotta test the waters...
Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Movie Colon The Game!: Developer Diary #1 - ...and the Octopus had a racecar... by Joey Rodriguez - 7/14/09
For those unfamiliar, a Developer Diary (in the world of video games) is basically a little behind the scenes article about certain aspects of a game such as art, code, music, etc. The diary explores how they are made, implemented and how it fits into the final game. This will be a continuing series until the game is released (whenever it's done). For our first Diary we've done a little write up on how we came up with the idea and the story. Enjoy!
Developer Diary #1: "...and the Octopus had a racecar..." - From Idea To...Well...
Since Danny started attending Full Sail for videogame programming it has always been a dream of his to finally start making his own game. We had jokingly suggested turning our movie into an over-the-top action game just for kicks. But as we started "pitching" funny ideas to ourselves we started to think that maybe making the game wouldn't be such a bad idea after all. Danny could use it as his resume for getting a good job after finishing school, and maybe we could make some money in the meantime. Thus Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Movie Colon The Game! was born.
Eerie Horror Film Festival by Joey Rodriguez - 7/14/09
The movie is off to the Eerie Horror Film Festival, which takes place on October 8th-11th, 2009. Back in '06 Ghost Adventures was nominated for Best Picture. I don't know if they won or not. It's a big festival, they are partnered with MySpace, and to get picked for a screening would be worth the $80 it costs to enter.
I know I'm talking to myself here, as probably nobody reads this junk, but it took Zak Bagans three years to start and finish his documentary "Ghost Adventures" (which is now a TV Series on the Travel Channel). It took me and Danny from April 11th, 2009 to June 1st, 2009 to shoot, edit, and upload. So, 51 days? I'd like to know exactly what took him so long, not that he's slow or anything like that. It's just interesting, because the movie is touted as being this "raw" documentary that has this conclusive evidence. You'd think that he'd want to just get it out as soon as possible. Quit scratchin' me!
Old Donation System Is New Again and Old-New Donation System Is Old by Joey Rodriguez - 7/14/09
Kickstarter seemed like a great way to raise money because it didn't immediately take your money, you just pledged it and if the goal was met, then you'd pay. It was sort of a gamble that, at least for us, never paid off. So we're going back to our old PayPal donation method where you give us money and we give you cool stuff in return. So far we've made more money using this method than using Kickstarter, so it is here to stay.
We are fundraising now for Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Series! as well as Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Movie Colon The Game!. This time we've got tons of rewards if you donate. Stuff like free T-Shirts, free copies of the movie, free soundtracks, even a Prickley Pete Plush Toy! Head over to the Donate page to donate today (and get some cool stuff in return!
Rettiwt / DVDs Are Almost Ready! by Joey Rodriguez - 7/10/09
It's one of the fastest-growing phenomena on the Internet. - New York Times
I wish that was written about us. Unfortunately the fourth sign of the Apocalypse is upon us. We've caved and secured our own Rettiwt page. Not because we have important updates, we just didn't want anybody to steal our name. We worked hard on that name, stealing it from others, and we need to protect!
So what's Rettiwt? Oh, that's Twitter spelled backwards. Why? Because everyone uses Twitter as if they were the first ones to discover it and have graciously allowed us low-level beings to get on board. Hell, Danny's had his since '07 when it was a pretty unique service instead of a bloated sack of "who-gives-a-damn's". It's nice to be able to message multiple people at once, with say: new updates for important things like work, or software or even new music and movie trailers. That's fine, as long as you got something to show. I think we've survived as a culture for thousands of years without knowing when someone is "'bout to work out" or "eatin' a three cheese, bean burrito!"
So, we've decided to use Rettiwt. It has the same basic services of Twitter, except you can't be a douchebag, otherwise you get kicked off. Get ready to read all of our interesting Retts like: Zoop! and Zoop!!. Oooh! Double exclamation points, that ones a keeper.
If you would like to follow us please head over to www.twitter.com/sgng for all your crappy needs!
Also, the DVDs are almost ready to go. We've just got to put the finishing touches on the audio commentary and they will be shipped out to your mailboxes (that's where letters go).
SGNG?: The Movie Colon The Game! Concept Art by Joey Rodriguez - 6/17/09
Check out our first piece of concept art created by the talented Jason "JZ" Zielinski of COLTRAN Studios for our upcoming game based on the Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? movie! It shows Danny and I doing battle with zombie Jichael Mackson (that's making fun of Michael Jackson if you don't get it...).
HaydenFilms / Movie Now On BulletFilm! by Joey Rodriguez - 6/17/09
Just finished sending Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? off to HaydenFilms for consideration for their Acquisition and Distribution Program hopefully they will respond, unlike some people...
Also, we the movie is now available to watch on BulletFilm in 13 Parts.
Off To The Festival / The Othersiders by Joey Rodriguez - 6/17/09
Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? is off to various festivals across the country. Hopefully it will be seen and not thrown in the trash, those DVDs are hard enough to make already without spilling piping hot gravy all over myself... The first round of festivals is listed below:
The Cartoon Network version of this whole jazz called The Outsiders is apparently premiering tonight. No, it's not what you think, it's not a cartoon. That honor is going to Prickley Pete's Fantastical Ghost Academy for Pre-Teen Girls.
It's a live action show, on Cartoon Network (which shows, by name, only cartoons), featuring real, live kids (not cartoons) bustin' ghosts or something. I don't know, I wasn't paying attention to the commercial. Basically it's like Ghost Adventures except with kids, on a non-live action network. I just hope clips of it show up on The Soup so I don't actually have to watch it without getting bored. Hell, The Soup should just show clips from our movie, it's funny on purpose.

New Donation System! Donate Today! by Joey Rodriguez - 6/03/09
We are proud to announce that we have started a KickStarter account to help raise money for Super Ghosts 'n ...Ghosts? The Series as well as The Video Game!. Here's how it works: You pledge that you will donate a certain amount, if the goal specified is met or exceded you pay that amount, if the goal is not met, no one pays. It's like gambling, only you don't win any money. Wait a second...
You can click on any of those options to get started. All versions will open in our Media Player which is designed to give you access to the other parts, if more than one, of the movie without leaving that page or this site, so please allow pop-ups or you won't be able to watch. You can head over to the Watch The Movie section of the website for even more options and information regarding each version.
Starting June 2nd, the movie will be available at the very top of this page in Vimeo format as well as in Watch The Movie section so you can get into your head-holes quicker!
Every version is the same content wise, so for those who have slower connections the Vimeo or Veoh version is recommended. If you have a faster connection YouTube or Blip.TV could be up your alley if you are willing to sacrifice pacing for quality. Either way there is more than one way to enjoy the movie.
If all of this is too confusing or just blowing your mind into next week I have posted the Vimeo (400 x 300) version below for your convenience.
Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? - Entire Movie - Vimeo (400 x 300)
As a special treat, here is a preview of Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Series.
That's it! I hope you enjoy the movie and all the hard and hilarious work that went into it. If you like the movie and would like to see our webseries come to fruition, please donate to Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?. Every donation receives a free copy of the movie on DVD.

Sukiyaki Western Django Stole From Me or...Wait...? by Joey Rodriguez - 5/02/09
Well, I haven't even made a name for myself and already people are stealing my ideas! What's next my hilarious stand-up act about airline food? No...they can't take that...
Anywayz, below is the ending (if you haven't seen it, tough) to a film I shot in March of 2007 and premiered in April of 2007 called Stockholm Syndrome which was basically a rip-off of Battle Royale. However, the ending to my flick was a little different, involving some sword play and a Taxi Driver inspired pistol. I found out, just a few minutes ago, literally, that a Japanese film called Sukiyaki Western Django by sometimes brilliant, other times weird, director Takashi Miike, which came out in September of 2007 (only a few months later) has the bad guy die in literally the same way as in my pic. Who stole from who? They did, obviously. You jerks. Although his version is about 1 million times cooler.
Stockholm Syndrome Ending
Sukiyaki Western Django Ending (Occurs about 1 minute 35 seconds into the clip)
Garage Band Warriors or: How 18 out of 80 is 4th Place by Joey Rodriguez - 4/29/09
In a little bit of non-ghost related news: my script Garage Band Warriors, about a garage band in the 1970s who have to fight zombies with their rock, placed 4th in a script competition at the SkyFest Film and Script Festival. Well, according to their results it placed 18th out of 80 scripts, but everyone beyond 3rd got a 4th place mention. Still, 18 out of 80 is pretty good, considering there are zombies, filthy words, and heavy metal music throughout mine (These are things that people hate. That, and skateboarding on the sidewalks!). Check out the sweet certif.
West Virginia State Penitentiary by Joey Rodriguez - 4/27/09
We just got back from West Virginia State Penitentiary up in Moundsville, West Virginia and we had a blast. We'd like to thank PAST Researchers for allowing us to tag along and try to stur up R.D. Wall. The long conversion and editing process has begun. We have a tentative premiere date of June 1st. Obviously that can change, but for now I would like to finish it before then. There will be mini-updates along the way, with videos and clips and of course plenty of Prickley Pete action! Here are few pictures from the prison:
Trans-Atlantic Bathroom Emporium by Joey Rodriguez - 4/19/09
Is it me or did the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum have like a 413:1 ratio of bathrooms to actual rooms? Everytime we'd turn the corner there'd be another one. One of the wards should have been the Toilet Ward. Anywayz, we just got back from Weston, West Virginia after a long, sleep induced, constantly nodding off and veering onto the shoulder, 13 hour marathon drive. We're taking today off to decompress. I've already starting loading and converting footage so the long editing process can begin.
Overall, Danny and I had an absolute blast at each place we visited. So far from our experiences we have really found no evidence of ghosts in the 6 places we've visited, strange analmoies have been proven to be errors on our part or just electronic snafus. We're ready for one last hurrah this Friday at the West Virgina State Penitentiary along with PAST Researchers. Hopefully we will be able to prove once and for all if something exists out there, or whether or not we'll have a funny or a serious documentary. Well, serious as we see it (less fart jokes).
Here is a nice collection of some of the cooler pics we took at the Lunatic Asylum. We've got some preview video coming later this week.
Super Cerullo Bros./ Lost in New Jersey by Joey Rodriguez - 4/17/09
After traveling four hours to our next destination we soon realized that the once creepy building known as the Cerullo Bros. Fishing Station had been completely demolished and cleared out. We couldn't help but laugh as the area I had grown accustom to for 14 straight nights last June had basically imploded into an empty field.
We pressed on to a few abandoned house behind what used to be the Shack, they weren't known to be haunted but we decided to take a look anyway. Plus we got lost in New Jersey, hooray! Here are a couple of sneak peek videos plus a few pictures to wet your appetite. Sorry for the somewhat crappy quality. Vimeo only lets me upload 500 MB per week.
Super Fantastic Update! by Joey Rodriguez - 4/16/09
After 4 days of hunting, driving, sleeping in empty Home Depot parking lots and eating Denny's at 4 in the morning we were finally able to get some rest at a very comfortable hotel. We've only got three locations left and so far we'v caught very little. We've been able to prove, and disprove, a couple of our theories, but most of them are still in the testing phase.
Next we will be heading out to New York to visit the Cerullo Bros. Fishing Station and it will be our last warmup before our first, full, 10 hour, monster-mega investigation at Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum. What we learn there can help us for our first joint investigation over at West Virginia State Penitentiary where we can try and prove our might, or just wither and die. Here are a couple of pictures and a video clip to hold you over!
Sorrel-Weed House Investigation by Joey Rodriguez - 4/12/09
We just got back from the Sorrel-Weed House in Savannah, Georiga. We had a blast on our first ever paranormal investigation. We don't want to spoil too much, and we haven't watched everything thoroughly, but we did get 4 distinct ghost voices captured on video and audio tape, plus this little gem below. Click on it to enlarge. We're off to our next location right now, we will update the site with more awesomeness!
had a little bump in the road today, Oatland Island in Savannah, Georgia had to cancel on us at the last minute. We have since signed up for a hunt at the Sorrel-Weed House, also located in Savannah.

Secured Locations List by Joey Rodriguez - 3/25/09
Prickley Pete was able to condense himself down into some sort of sponge-like creature and sneak into a bank and then rob it blind. He was later caught, but the handcuffs kept slipping off his stubby little arms and so they let him go. Anyways...here is a list of locations that are actually secure and have been paid for and there would have to be something catastrophic event such as a giant ice cream mudslide or attack by some creature from some ethnic lagoon to stop us.
Oatland Island Hospital - Savannah, Georgia
Loveland Castle - Loveland, Ohio
Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum - Weston, West Virginia
West Virginia State Penitentiary - Moundsville, West Virginia
Yeah, there's two places in West Virgina, big whoop, wanna fight about it?
Theoretical Locations List by Joey Rodriguez - 3/21/09
Below is an almost certain, kinda waiting on some stuff, please for the love of God respond to my four hundred emails and phone calls, theoretical list of locations that we will be visiting and inspecting for Prickley Pete's relatives:
Seminole Club / Old City Cemetery - Jacksonville, Florida
Dejarnette Center - Stauton, Virginia
Loveland Castle - Loveland, Ohio
Hayswood Hospital - Maysville, Kentucky
Oatland Island - Savannah, Georgia
Henryton State Hospital - Marriottsville, Maryland
Cerullo Bros. Fishing Station - East Moriches, New York
West Virginia State Penitentiary - Moundsville, West Virginia
We Got 'Em. He's A Robot. by Joey Rodriguez - 3/17/09
While testing our new infrared (Night Vision) camera we stumbled across our first ghost ever! We nearly got footage of him in his natural habitat but he spotted us and bolted out of the room.
SG'N...G?TMCTG! - Proof of Concept Footage by Joey Rodriguez - 3/15/09
Here is the first look at the Proof of Concept (a basic idea of what the game might involve, how it may look, or the basic mechanics) footage for the upcoming PC game Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? The Movie Colon The Game! based on Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?
Okay, Internet. Put Your Hands Up... by Joey Rodriguez - 3/10/09
I wish the Internet did not exist. Well, except for this web page of course. Basically we have no locations secured. We're back to square one. The owners of the Villisca Axe Murder House haven't returned any of emails or phone calls and it turns out the Essex County Hospital Center AND the Mansfield Reformatory both want over $500 plus insurance. Damn you Sci Fi Channel!
That, and finding out the owners of certain, well known, haunted locales is harder than inventing the Internet (which, I don't know if you've heard, is on computers...for now). You think with captions such as, "SCARIEST IN THE WORLD" or "PANTS POOPINGLY SCARY" you would have a name, phone number, or (God forbid) an email address! Oh, Internet! I can't stay mad at you forever with gems like this!
Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts?: The Movie Colon The Game! by Joey Rodriguez - 3/06/09
That's right! To signify the release date of the movie a tie-in videogame is in production! Being built from the ground up by Odd Man Out Studios creators of Pong Karuga, this 2D Side-Scrolling shooter will follow the mis-adventures of Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts? through locations we visit in the movie and a few new surprises! Battle ghosts, zombies, werewolves, vampires and more with a huge arsenal of ridiclously overpowered weapons. Play as Joey, Danny, or Prickley Pete and unlock new characters with super powers!
The game's epic storyline will have you come face to face with some of the deadliest creatures around as well as the T.A.P.S. crew from Ghost Hunters and the Ghost Adventures-ers themselves. The game is slated to be released day and date with the movie and will be available on PC, XBOX Live XNA, and iPHONE.
Take That Ghost Adventures! by Joey Rodriguez - 3/05/09
It's official. We will be treading the on the same turf as Ghost Adventures and, after next week, Ghost Hunters! The Overbrook Hospital (Essex County Hospital Center) in New Jersey is a huge abandoned complex with lots and lots of asbestos! Hooray for excuses to buy a cool gas mask!

Head on over to the Shop to take a look. The shirts come in four (4) sizes (Small, Medium, Large, and X-Large). They are black Gildan, 100% cotton T-shirts. Enjoy!
Access Denied: Sloss Furnaces, Alabama by Joey Rodriguez - 2/21/09
According to the curator of the Sloss Furnaces:
We are also cutting back on the "paranormal" events. We are a National
Historic Landmark and do not want to jeopardize our status with the
National Parks Service. So with that said, this type of project would not
be in the best interest of Sloss.
You would think that having a place being known for "paranormal" events would be better than just some furnaces. I don't think I can remember a time where I woke up and suddenly had the urge to vistit a furnace 1000 miles away. Wait a second! That sounds awesome!
Access Denied: Bachelors Grove Cemetery, Illinois by Joey Rodriguez - 2/18/09
Due to reacquisition of Bachelors Grove Cemetery by the Parks Department of Cook County from the actual County itself, Bachelors Grove Cemetery has been blocked from any filming, especially overnight, from taking place. The guy I talked to on the phone was nice about it, but I wish I could squeeze money through the phone, maybe he would've changed his mind.
Our First Rejection Letter! by Joey Rodriguez - 2/17/09
We've just recieved our first rejection letter! PBS (Public Broadcasting System) did not like our idea, or maybe they didn't read it. You be the judge:
The letter and proposal we sent them was from way back in December of '08 when the project was still called Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and they just got around to writing us back. It's the thought that counts!
Putting The 'Fun' Back In Fundraising by Joey Rodriguez - 2/14/09
We are proud to announce that we have started a Fundable account to help raise money for Super Ghosts 'n ...Ghosts?. Here's how it works: You pledge that you will donate a certain amount, if the goal specified is met or exceded you pay that amount, if the goal is not met, no one pays. It's like gambling, only you don't win any money. Wait a second...
First Location Secured: Villisca Axe Murder House, Iowa by Joey Rodriguez - 2/11/09
Great news! We have just booked our first location: The Villisca Axe Murder House in Villisca, Iowa. The Linn Family has graciously approved us to stay overnight, and we couldn't be more exicited. Thanks to the Linn Family for letting us make fools of ourselves in their home! We are off and running! Also we have just passed the half-way mark in our Donations scheme to raise $1000!
Welcome! by Joey Rodriguez - 2/01/09
Welcome to the official site of Super Ghosts 'n ... Ghosts a documentary series about paranormal investigation, but with a twist. The twist? We know nothing about paranormal investigation, we are not certified parapsychologists, all we know is what we've seen on TV.
With our hatred of "reality TV" in the back of our minds we set off to explore the world's most haunted locales, making complete fools of ourselves and exposing other shows in the medium for their trickery!
We are in the planning stages of producing our pilot which will be a two hour documentary about the history of ghost hunting, as well as our adventures to five locations and our findings. We aim to test our wacky theories and equipment to see if we can do a better job than others who have been doing it their whole lives!
Forget what you know about ghost shows. Each episode is packed with enough laughs and scares (and hard scientific evidence) to fill one whole hour of television. And that's a good thing. Too much funny and you turn into a ghost, that's one of our theories by the way.
This site is currently under construction, but feel free to browse around. More info will be posted as soon as it becomes available. If you want to contribute to our cause please feel free to donate $0.99 or contact us at joey@superghostsnghosts.com.
