Batteries. Batteries! Batteries?
It may seem stupid or trivial to list batteries as part of our equipment list, and you'd be right. However, batteries are the lifeblood of the paranormal investigator. Without them we're just a couple of people in the dark with a pad and a pen. And some chips.
Price:
NP-FH100 Sony Camera Battery - $58.96 [2] (eBay)
NP-FH70 Sony Camera Battery - $26.98 (eBay)

250 GB Portable Hard Drive
Although the cameras themselves hold about 30GB (8 1/2 hours) we will be visiting many places at once so we will have to dump our footage to a hard drive in order to keep filming, as well as protect the footage and view it. These USB hard drives are safe and reliable and are extremely quiet!

Polaroid One Step 600 Instant Camera
It's the classic 80s camera in the flesh. There was a rumor that a ghost in a particular house, somewhere on this Earth would write answers to questions on the 600 film when someone took a picture. We're out to see if that can happen again. The warm-up sound when you open it sounds like a nuclear bomb about to drop. But that's okay, it's full of kittens!
We've got one in our posession right now and that's all we'll ever need!
Price: $12.99 (eBay)
Olympus VN-4100 Digitial Voice Recorder
According to fellow paranormal investigators, ghost voices, commonly referred to as EVPs, can be recorded on something as simple as this digital voice recorder. It hold up to 14 hours of high quality audio recordings and even has a built in 1/8'' mic and headphone jack. We've always wanted to say "Note to self..."
We've only got one in our posession right now and we're looking to secure even more!
Price: $22.63 (eBay)
CellSensor EMF Detector
To some, the EMF Detector is a great tool not just for measuring cell phone waves or energy coming out of electric units, but for ghost hunting. Others, like us, just like watching the little needle bounce as high as possible before it shatters the screen.
The ultimate test is to see how these signals actually corespond to ghosts other than they occasionally move up and down. Hopefully Prickley Pete isn't made of 100% electromagnestism. Although that would be cool, we could use him as a refridgerator magnet.
Price: $35.98 (eBay)
Flashlight
Besides being pocket-sized tubes, these light-shining, demon sticks not only light the way but they can steal your soul!
Running on just two AA batteries, they are perfect for catching things out of the corner of your eyes!
Price: Free! [2] (We Already Had Them)
Camera Battery Car Charger
We may not be near an outlet for several days at a time so this handy gagdet will be able to charge our batteries while we drive. It's compact and acts as a wall charger as well. That's two for the price of what one would normally cost at retail face value!
Price: Free! [2] (We Already Had Them)
Tripod
We'll probably never use the thing, but in situations where we need a static camera to film ourselves or a part of a location without jarring, Tony Scott-like camera movement, we'll hook this baby up!
Price: $6.98 (eBay)
Cobra 17 Mile Walkie-Talkies
Unfortunately these walkie-talkies do not allow us to communicate with ghosts, or cobras. However, they are pretty awesome at communicating with the living. One of the most important tools in terms of safety during a ghost hunt, the walkie-talkie can keep us informed of the things that we may or may not have seen or heard.
These babies go up to 17 miles with a strong singal and should allow us to split up in even the most complex locations.
Price: $32.00 (eBay)
Motion Detectors
Not only are these hilarious frogs, but they are also motion detectors! Chinese motion detectors! When activated they scream out, in Chinese, "Hello! Welcome home!"
They run on three AAA batteries and are EXTREMELY LOUD. What!? What did you say!? No! No! A quarter past six! Yeah!
Price: $9.98 [2] (eBay)
Glow Sticks
Some ghosts have been known to drain the charge of a full battery in an instant. That makes them more annoying than usual. But! To combat a lack of batteries failing we have invested in some 24 hour, break 'em & shake 'em glow sticks.
You crack them in half, shake them, and then drink the fluids inside. Your body will instantly light up!
Price: $6.70 [Pack of 3] (eBay)
Backpack
Where would we be without the backpack? We'd probably have really strong arms right? 'Cause we'd have to carry all our stuff in our arms.
These 'packs are pretty huge and can carry almost all of our equipment, plus a small baby!
Price: $49.98 [2] (Target)
Duck Flavored Duct Tape
Duct Tape fixes everything. Plus, this is a special brand where when you pull a piece off it quacks like a duck!
What more do you want me to say? We could put honey on it and see if ghosts are attracted to honey, or bears.
Price: $9.99 (A Hobo's Shopping Cart)
First Aid Kit
Although we don't think that any ghosts will actually harm us, we're just afraid of steppin' on a nail or hitting our faces on a 2 x 4. It's one of those things where you think you'll never need it until something happens and then you've got one, and you're like: "Wow! I'm glad I had this!"
Price: $6.98 (eBay)
